There is nothing better on a chilly day than a nice, cozy sweatshirt. Something about that soft, fleecy lining just takes us back to being babies. Big and tall men who work outdoors are going to need some heavy duty big and tall sweatshirts. My husband always wore them under his coveralls or snowsuit to train horses in the frigid New York winter. Once he was back in the barn, the snowsuit could be removed and he would still have something warm against his skin. Big and tall sweatshirts are offered in a variety of styles.

The classic crew neck is what most men wear. If it’s really cold, add a turtleneck. Polar fleece sweatshirts are lighter weight, but very warm and come in crew, v-neck, zip front, and hooded styles. These come in a lot of colors and tall sizes are longer in length and in the sleeve. Big sizes are just proportionally larger for a comfortable, no bind fit.

Hooded sweatshirts or hoodies are popular with young and older men alike. You can get them in a pullover style or zip front. They are a comfortable alternative to a light weight jacket. Vests in polar fleece or traditional sweatshirt material can also be had. They come with or without a hood and are a nice layering piece. Some have thermal, velour, or flannel linings for extra warmth. If you check out a work clothing catalog, some even have a water resistant finish.

Sports fans want a sweatshirt with their favorite team’s logo and you can get them from a big and tall store or catalog. Sweat shirts are great for tailgating. Your team loyalty will be on display for everyone to see. For indoor parties, the team logo jersey is another thing most men love to have. I never understood years ago why the football jerseys were not offered in bigger sizes. Hello, football players are big and so are many of their fans. Now you can get the team logo big and tall clothes online, in stores, and even on QVC.

What else can I say? Everyone loves a sweatshirt and big and tall men are no exception. I love to “borrow” one from my husband in winter. They’re just so loose and comfy for lying around the house on a snowy day. Big and tall sweatshirts also make the perfect gift. Hint, hint ladies.
